14th Nov: 7.00pm Talk: An Evening with Paula Doyle and Linda Seward
An Evening with Paula Doyle and Linda Seward
14th November at 7.00 PM
Join us for a glass of wine with Paula Doyle and Linda Seward, both acclaimed authors, and quilt makers, as they regale you with stories behind their quilts and books.
As well as having her quilts displayed at patchwork shows internationally, in 2013 Paula designed and curated a series of eight quilts to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta at Runnymede in 1215 A.D.
Four Medieval Quilts and four Legacy Quilts were displayed as a series that measured 30 feet long x 5 feet wide x 7 feet high.
Paula will be talking about her unique “Easy Stack Piecing Technique” with Linda. Easy Stack is a variation on the hugely popular stack and whack concept. By tearing fabrics, stacking them and cutting, choose from multiple design possibilities from the same repeat of fabrics. This technique is featured in her book, Easy Stack Quilts.
Linda, author of The Ultimate Guide to Art Quilting as well as past editor of McCall’s Needlework and Crafts Magazine in New York is a great friend of Paula’s, working closely with her teaching her workshops. The rapport between them will prove to create an extremely enjoyable evening.
With a glass of wine (tea/coffee), opportunities for shopping and book signings at the end, what could be better!
