Trees for the Season! (Jennie Rayment) – Time: 10.00am to 4.00pm

Create two panels featuring a tree in Winter and one in Spring. Discover a ‘cheats’ method for creating Tumbling Blocks as featured in Winter Tree Sky (the final effect depends on how the colours are arranged) and get to grips with a little Bargello. The Spring tree takes you into curved raw edge applique and some fabric weaving.

Tree pattern provided or you can bring your own design. This class is full of neat ideas for creating several different patchwork techniques.

Beginners to experienced quilters wanting new inspiration are welcome in this class.

Please ensure that you are familiar with your sewing machine and arrive to class with your sewing machine threaded, and “ready to go”.  If you are not familiar with your sewing machine, please book a one-to-one session at Lady Sew and Sew before your workshop.

Please bring with you:-

Requirements:

• Sewing machine foot control and instruction book!
• Spare machine bobbins and assorted machine needles – 70 – 100 (10 – 16)
• Extension table for machine – if owned
• Good selection of thread – bring assorted colours
• General sewing accessories
• Spectacles if required

Selection of landscape coloured small prints or batiks/tone-on-tone/plains are ideal, avoid too many directional fabrics.

One Fat Quarter for both trees or two pieces of approx. 14″ x 8” for different coloured trees

Winter Tree 
Sky: From six different fabrics cut:
Six 2½ x 21” strips  (One strip from each fabric – if necessary use fewer colours and repeat one or two of the colours.)
Ground: From four different fabrics cut:
One 3 x 8”, One 3½ x 8”
One 4 x 8”, One 4½ x 8

Spring Tree
Sky: Several different fabrics are used here. If preferred, repeat one or two of the chosen materials.
Cut: Six 13 x 3” strips
Ground: From three – four several different fabrics cut or tear: Five 44 x 1” strips
One 5 x 13” strip iron-on light or medium-weight interfacing.

Additional Notes

Coffee and tea will be available prior to the start of the class, and during. You will have an opportunity to look around our Warehouse and purchase fabric and supplies prior to the class, during and even afterwards.

Car parking is available at the warehouse. Please park in our car park at the bottom of the warehouse rather than along the length of the building to allow disabled access and space for delivery vehicles

Remember to bring a packed lunch with you with a cool bag, if required. Alternatively Subway, Greggs and Tesco’s are all close by.

Cancellation Policy

In exceptional circumstances, workshops and events may be cancelled. Where at all possible, in the first instance we will offer you an alternative date, securing your place in the next class. We will give you as much notice as possible should we need to cancel and arrangements will be made. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. Should we need to cancel, and are not able to offer you an acceptable alternative, you will be refunded the full amount paid.

We are not able to recompense for any incremental costs that you may have incurred to attend the class should it be cancelled, such as purchases, travel arrangements or accommodation.

Should you need to cancel, please give us as much notice as possible. Providing at least 14days notice is given, we will offer you a refund, less 10% administration fee, or you may transfer to another class. Unfortunately if less than 14 days notice is given we are unable to provide refunds or a transfer.
