The Poles Apart pattern creates a shaped panel measuring approximately 20 x 24 inches. Square off the top edge to make a lovely small wall hanging, or keep the original hexagonal shape for an unusual and decorative table centre. You can also make additional blocks and expand the design into a larger quilt.
The pattern includes full instructions for Little Patch Pockets’ preferred Foundation Paper Piecing technique, together with instructions for assembling the finished panel and a set of foundation papers. As the design is Foundation Paper Pieced, the blocks can be made at different sizes, giving you plenty of flexibility for larger quilts and other patchwork projects.
Experiment with light, medium and dark fabrics to enhance the three-dimensional effect. The designer also recommends Trillium fabric packs, which have been specially selected for 3D patchwork designs. Two identical Trillium fabric packs are required to make the 20 x 24 inch Poles Apart panel.
