“This quilt is created from an assortment of 15 hot-coloured print fabrics contrasting with a pea-green shot cotton. This arrangement is created with a single block pattern, with alternate blocks rotated to give a lattice pattern. It is also pieced with intersecting sashing so it looks more intricate than it actually is. It is best to use the red/pink prints randomly to give an attractive scrappy look to the quilt.” (taken from the book, Quilts in Ireland)
