JC217 On the Wing Quilt Pattern is a striking and beautiful quilt with this pattern from Janet Clare. The quilt has amazing energy and movement created using a traditional log cabin block design coupled with fusible appliqué gulls.
The pattern provides detailed instructions guide you through the piecing of the top, creating the appliqué gulls, free machine drawing, quilt construction, layering and binding.
Using traditional patchwork piecing and fusible appliqué, having some patchwork experience will make this project easier, but the techniques are simple to learn, making it suitable for all experience levels.
The quilt is jelly roll friendly! A jelly roll is a fabric bundle containing forty strips of fabric, each 42” x 2 ½”. These are used as part of the construction of the log-cabin blocks in this design.
Finished quilt measures 50 x 50 inches.
