This quilt, Marquetry Blocks features tumbling blocks which is one of Kaffe Fassett’s favourite quilt designs, as it offers such a wonderful opportunity to create a 3-D effect using delicate tonal differences. In this version, the design has the quality of marquetry, hence his name for it.

Using a design wall will help to place the blocks in the required layout. The layout is clearly shown in the book, Quilts in an English Village and is easy to follow. It is the placing of the blocks that draws the eye and makes this a stunning quilt.

Fabric enclosed in your Fabric Pack is to complete the quilt top and binding. In addition, you will need wadding and backing fabric.

Suggested Backing Fabric: ANIMAL Orange 5¼yd (4.9m)

Suggested Wadding: 63in x 84in (160cm x 213cm)

We suggest using our popular Madeira threads that have a gorgeous sheen to show up your quilting on this stunning quilt.

Please note that where fabrics are unavailable or discontinued, in order to compile the pack, ‘intelligent’ substitutions will be made. These will be as close as possible in design and colour tone to the original so as not to change the overall concept of the project.
