Kaffe designed this quilt with a particular book location setting in mind – silvery wood and weathered brickwork. It shows just how elegant grey can be used as a base colour for a quilt.

The layout of this quilt was inspired by the great African artist El Anatsui, who uses bottle tops to create rippling, repeating patterns.Using Kaffe's smaller prints and classics, Kaffe created his own version of one of Anatsui’s glorious hangings in this quilt, for which Brandon’s Reflections fabric makes the perfect border. -

Kaffe used the darkest of his Woven Stripe fabrics and his big Paisley Flower print to create this simple, striking layout. A particularly striking quilt. -
