Debbie Busby’s S is for Sew features cute cotton reels and buttons, and is adorable for all kinds of projects.
Debbie is a pattern designer and a shop owner, and hailing from the Pacific Northwest where she grew up with her three sisters, moving every summer between Oregon and Washington for their father’s job. As a young girl she was introduced to sewing by her mother and grandmothers, who made clothing, doll clothes and quilts, and continued her love for sewing with makes for her children, family and craft fairs.
After taking a wool class and making models for local quilt shops to display, she started her own business, Wooden Spool Designs: wool appliqué is her speciality and she has over 200 patterns she sells wholesale and retail. She’s been featured in various magazines, and has published two books with Martingale/That Patchwork Place.
Debbie loves to teach the basics of wool appliqué in quilt shops across the States, and is inspired by the way a simple needle and thread can bring so many together.
