Description

Learn How to Machine Piece Hexagons with Carolyn Forster

One-Day Workshop: 10.00am – 4.00pm
Skill Level: All Levels

Workshop Overview

Join Carolyn Forster on a creative journey into the world of hexagon quilting! In this workshop, you’ll learn how to Machine Piece Hexagons without the need of papers, which is much easier and faster than it looks. Using large hexagons and triangles, or hexagons on their own, you’ll discover that to machine piece hexagons rather than hand sew can be simple, efficient, and highly rewarding.

Carolyn will guide you through techniques for joining hexagons and triangles, as well as cutting partial and half-hexagon shapes to fill in the edges of your projects. You’ll also learn Y seams and other essential tips for successful hexagon piecing.

As the author of the bestselling book Hexagon Happenings, Carolyn is considered the “Queen of Hexagons,” and she brings her step-by-step expertise to every project, providing practical guidance and insider tips. Advice on quilting your finished project will also be shared as needed.

By the end of this workshop, you will:

  • Gain confidence in machine piecing hexagon quilts

  • Learn how to piece hexagons and triangles efficiently

  • Understand Y seams and partial hexagon shapes for flexible layouts

  • Receive guidance on finishing and quilting your project
