St James Buttermere, PWWM090.BLUE. This multi-directional print was originally designed by William Morris as part of a commission for the redecoration of the Grand Staircase in St James’s Palace, London in 1881

Composition: 100% Cotton

Buttermere’ refers to an area of the Lake District in the UK. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is heavily inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement with William Morris as a significant influence. The lovely bright palette in the collection of vivid yellows and iconic blues running throughout evokes the stunning landscapes and interiors found in the area. Morris patterns can be found in various influential houses around the area such as ‘Daisy’ in the Beatrix Potter House.
