Thread Magic is a specialty thread conditioner developed by Taylor Seville Originals, designed to improve the performance, longevity, and handling of sewing threads.
Unlike traditional wax-based conditioners, Thread Magic applies as a smooth, hypoallergenic coating that reduces friction, static, tangling, and fraying. It reduces drag when sewing by 400 % compared to wax and 700 % compared to untreated thread, which helps decrease strain on hands and wrists during sewing.
Thread Magic also forms an almost invisible barrier that protects thread from UV damage, mould, and mildew, extending the vibrancy of the thread over time. It is inert (i.e. chemically stable), non-toxic, and suitable for all thread types and fabrics, including delicate or specialty threads like silk, rayon, or metallic fibres.
How to use:
Simply open the cap, press thread into the conditioner, inserting the thread in slots, close the cap, and pull your thread through the conditioner.
The conditioner creates 400% less thread drag, so your thread glides as you sew.
It strengthens the thread, so that it lasts longer.
It prevents tangling and fraying of thread.
