As a child, Anna Maria Horner spent weekends visiting fabric shops with her mother and sister, and in 1995 mother and daughter opened a small shop selling handmade clothes. She was ‘discovered’ by FreeSpirit Fabrics founder Donna Wilder, and her first fabric collection launched in 2005, since when she has focused on the sewing and quilting community where her creativity was first planted as a girl.
Designing fabrics that become quilts and other sewn projects marries her love of art making and sewing, and hundreds of fabric designs (and seven children!) later. Anna Maria now lives in Historic Franklin, Tennessee, where the family has been restoring a 1900s Georgian Revival cottage, including a new home studio where she continues to create her colourful, detailed fabrics and quilts.
