Janet Clare studied textiles and fashion at Winchester School of Art and worked as a freelance knitwear designer for many years. She returned to textiles when her boys started school, falling in love with patchwork and quilting and subsequently fulfilling ambitions to design fabric and publish her books.
With over 20 years of experience as a designer, artist, teacher, author and quilter, Janet is a creative soul who is inspired by words, sayings and lovely phrases that she comes across, capturing her ideas in sketchbooks, which she describes as ‘quite literally the most inspiring thing I own’.
Janet has created a large range of quilt patterns, written five books and designed twenty-five fabric collections in collaboration with Moda.
