Description

🧵 Beginner Patchwork Sampler Quilt with Anita Birtles

A true beginner’s quilt – start from scratch and stitch your way to confidence!

Join Anita for a comprehensive patchwork journey designed especially for beginners. This class will guide you step by step through the essential techniques of quilting, while you create a beautiful sampler quilt made up of fun and varied block designs.

🪡 What You’ll Learn:

You’ll start with the basics, including:

  • Accurate rotary cutting & ruler use

  • Quarter-inch seam sewing

  • Matching points & piecing

  • Pressing tips for a professional finish

Then, move on to more detailed skills such as:

  • Making classic blocks: Rail Fence, Nine Patch, Log Cabin

  • Using triangle techniques: Half-square & quarter-square triangles for Pinwheels, Flying Geese, and Stars

  • Working with templates: Dresden Plate, Tumbling Blocks

  • Squaring up blocks & assembling the quilt

By the end of the course, you’ll have up to 12 finished blocks — ready to be joined with or without sashing, depending on whether you prefer a traditional or modern style.

Please bring with you, or purchase on the day of your workshop –
