This quilt of Liza’s reminds Kaffe of platters of summer fruits beside a rippling sea. The
block is a traditional Perkiomen Valley block, also called a split 9-patch. Liza chose
the colours of the Adriatic island where this book has been photographed. The quilt is
scrappy so there is no need to place each fabric as in the original. Just keep the yellow
fabrics in the yellow areas and the blue ones in the blue areas, using red centres as a
focal point in each block
