Having taken his quilts to the seaside for his previous book, Kaffe Fassett’s Quilts by the Sea, for his 26^th patchwork and quilting title, now Kaffe’s going down on the farm! Kaffe Fassett’s Quilts on an English Farm ploughs a new furrow for the colour master’s designs, with 20 quilts pictured against an agricultural backdrop deep in the Kent countryside.

From green fields to orchards of fruit trees, and from farm animals to bales of hay stacked in the barns for winter food, Kaffe has dug deep to bring new quilting inspirations, using fabrics both classic and fresh imaginings of some of his most famous quilt designs, and projects for patchworkers at all levels. But this isn’t just some bucolic idyll: as well as celebrating the lushness of the environment, Kaffe responds to the reality of a working farm, setting one colourway against rusting machinery, and displaying a pastel design on weathered wood.

Each of the 20 quilts is photographed beautifully on location by long-time collaborator Debbie Patterson and is also presented as a flat image showing the design clearly, along with step-by-step instructions for the construction of both blocks and the completed quilt, and a useful how-to section for further guidance.
