Join the talented Rachel Williams, a finalist from Sewing Street TV’s Search for a Sewing Star, for a creative and inspiring day of sewing.
In this workshop, you’ll learn the techniques of Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) while making the striking Wolf’s Beauty wallhanging.
Based on the Bella Arcs and Beauties pattern, this workshop is perfect for quilters who enjoy precise piecing and want to explore the possibilities of FPP. You’ll work through the construction step by step, learning how to accurately piece the beautiful geometric designs and create a stunning feature wallhanging.
The class includes the Bella Arcs and Beauties pattern and a complete set of printed FPP templates, so you can concentrate on learning the technique and enjoying your sewing.

Course outline
During the workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Foundation Paper Piecing and how to work confidently with printed FPP templates. We’ll cover accurate cutting and fabric placement, along with helpful tips for achieving precise points and seams. You’ll also explore how to combine fabrics and colours to create impact, before learning techniques for assembling your individual blocks into the finished Wolf’s Beauty wallhanging.

- Printed Foundation Paper Piecing templates
Sewing equipment
- Sewing machine with foot pedal, presser feet and manual
- ¼” piecing foot, if you have one
- Rotary cutter with a sharp blade and cutting mat
- Spare rotary cutter blades
- 6″ and 12″ rulers
- Add-A-Quarter ruler, if you have one
- Seam roller
- Scissors, pins and basic sewing equipment
- Fabric marking pen
- Notebook and pen/pencil
Fabrics & materials
- Background fabric – 1 metre
- Wadding – 1 metre
- Fabrics for the Beauties – fat quarters, fat eighths or assorted scraps work beautifully
- Fabric for fussy cutting the centre feature – approximately 9″ x 8″
- Sewing thread to complement your fabrics
- Bondaweb or similar – 1 metre
- Water-soluble glue pen, such as a Sewline glue pen
- 10″ square of interfacing
For inspiration, the sample uses Tula Pink Solids from a 10″ Layer Cake, combined with fabrics from Tula Pink’s Graywork collection. However, this project is a great opportunity to use your own favourite fabrics and create a wallhanging with your own colour personality.
Sewing Machine Reminder
To help you make the most of your workshop time, please ensure that you are familiar with your sewing machine and arrive with it threaded and ready to go. This will save valuable time at the start of the session and allow you to get stuck into sewing straight away!

Free parking is available at the warehouse.
Please park in the designated car park at the bottom of the building — this ensures clear access for disabled visitors and delivery vehicles. We kindly ask that you avoid parking along the length of the warehouse.
